Types of Certification:
There are different types of electrical certification for the different needs of clients.
At Safe Secure Electrical we offer Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection certification services.
Initial Verification
This is issued when new installation work has been carried out and completed, full testing and inspection of the work is undertaken and a certificate is issued to prove installation complies with the current wiring regulations and that the installation is safe to be put into service.
Periodic Inspection / EICR
Otherwise known as an EICR, this is when the condition of an existing electrical installation, inspection is carried out for safety and compliance. This is often taken out on rental property, for insurance / mortgage purposes and to gain knowledge of the condition of your current electrical system.
Why Certification Matters
Electrical certification isn’t just paperwork—it’s your assurance that:
All work meets legal standards under Part P of the Building Regulations and the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Your property remains safe, with fully compliant installations and tested circuits
Insurance validity is protected—unapproved work can void policies
Buyers recognise value, as certified work adds resale appeal
Landlords meet regulations, such as Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England)
